Why use Lil’Shoppa?
Unlike many mail-forwarding services, we only charge a flat percentage for our handling fee. That’s it. No set-up fees, payment plans or memberships.
Here are just some of the things we do to provide our affordable and efficient service:
• We personally shop, order and receive your items.
• We forward items purchased by you from online stores, by providing a real street address, not a P.O box.
• We check that your items are what you ordered before sending them on.
• We repack items for economical shipping (such removing catalogs and promo material, clothes hangers and shoes from boxes).
• We buy from websites that don't sell online as well as ones that do.
• We do not charge extra for order tracking, consolidation or buying services.
• We issue prompt refunds or credit for unused postage.
• We are very environmentally conscious by recycling packaging material, boxes and eliminating all printed correspondence.
• We are involved in every step to make sure your USA shopping experience is as easy and stress-free as possible.
Our Story...
Living in Los Angeles has it's ups and downs. Firstly, there is the unrelenting smog, the unavoidable traffic and sometimes an overwhelming sense of isolation. On the upside, it is where most people come to pursue a career and live the California lifestyle, resulting in an abundance of luxuries, money and the Hollywood dream. I can't exactly say that's why I moved to LA. But it is this kind of attainable lifestyle of why I love living here. That, and one other thing...the shopping.
I moved to LA from Sydney Australia, to pursue acting. I had not expected to stay longer than 6 months (that was all I had saved for), but I got lucky with work and ended up thinking a little while longer wouldn't hurt. There were days however, when I just felt the need to escape. I would walk down Robertson Blvd, up Melrose Ave and around the Beverly Center. I would go to every Marshalls and Ross in my neighbourhood and spend hours in the beautiful boutiques that lined Rodeo Drive.
Wandering around town, I soon discovered that things were considerably more affordable in LA. Mostly it's because the population is so large, but even more expensive items like designer merchandise was alot cheaper than other countries. It became hard to pass up a good sale, and I eventually relished in getting lost in the racks of clothes at Loehmanns, armed with a bunch of discount coupons, trying to find the perfect pair of shoes that I could get at half price, less 30%, and even less with my coupon. Like any victorious rush, it sometimes became addictive. And I couldn't help but tell my friends of all the bargains I'd find at my local haunts in my spare time.
Pretty soon the orders from friends and family started rolling in. And I was more than happy to shop and deliver, making new discoveries and finding incredible deals. For Christmas it came down to 2 suitcases of maximum weight, packed with the lists of items that people had requested I bring home. I loved seeing the delight on my friend's faces when I got them that very special something that was either ridiculously expensive or unavailable back home. After many Christmases following suit, the lists I got emailed from friends and family started to get longer and I was a regular at the post office every week.
The call to turn my hobby into a business came from realizing that it is not only my friends and family wishing to buy things from the USA, with little means of getting them. It didn’t seem fair that the variety and competitive prices of US products are limited only to their citizens. Determined to help solve this problem, I called up my friend Chad, a brilliant web designer. Together, we sat down to figure out how save the international community, one purchase at a time.
Fast forward a few years and we have been able to develop a personal shopping and mail forwarding system that makes your USA experience easy and enjoyable. We truly love being able to provide this service, and hope that you enjoy it too, receiving all those things you can never get back home. We look forwarding to hearing your feedback on how we can improve our website or service and we love to hear your testimonials. Many thanks for choosing us as your personal mail forwarding agent, and we wish you all the best in your online hunting!
